So the other day, I was lying in bed thinking about how long it would take my friend and I to drive to Florida or Massachusets, and then I dreamed up an amazing feature/idea for it.
I think that it’d be really cool if, when you request directions on Google Maps, that when you mouseover part of the route, rather than saying:
My idea is that it would instead display pertinent trip information. Such as:
- Distance Traveled
- ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)
- Popular cities would show up with relevant links, such as finding hotels, rest stops, whatever.
- So many more possibilities.
Here’s a really crude example:
I’m surprised this functionality does not already exist, but I felt innovative thinking of it.
TLDR (Too Long, Didn’t Read) Summary: On google maps, when you mouse over a route (When getting directions), the mouse over would pop up with your ETA for the point where your mouse is located.
Let me know your thoughts!
